Director elections
The board of directors oversees the company and is responsible for ensuring that shareholders' interests are served. Directors are elected at the annual meeting of shareholders and typically run uncontested. Funds tend to withhold their support from nominated directors as a way of criticizing lapses in the performance of individual board members or entire boards.
